Uniforms and Equipment
The Americans wore blue uniforms and their army often carried muskets and guns. Their blue coats had a little bit of red in the front lined with white. Some of the Americans carried long small caliber rifled weapons. The American army's waistcoats and breeches were made of buckskin. Also their stockings were made out of either white or gray wool.
The British armies wore red coats and also had head gear made of bear skin caps. The British troops also wore headgear such as bearskin or leather caps or even tricorne hats. This depended on whether they were battalion company men, light company or grenadiers. The battalion men wore the tricorne hats, grenadiers wore bearskin caps, and the light company wore leather caps.
